It was COVID that made me do it. I'll confess that after all the work in preparing with some dedicated colleagues, I found that what happened in the social and public health response to COVID, there were aspects that were disappointing. Public confidence and faith in health and medical was shaken. As has been my habit, rather that carp about such things, I felt the renewed need to serve and when a good friend reached out about the Health Officer position, I felt it was time to put up or shut up.

I am certainly glad I did.
